Protect products connected to their place of origin
A geographical indication identifies a product as originating from a particular country, region or locality where a quality, reputation or other characteristic is linked to that geographical origin.
Discuss a geographical indication ↗Origin-linked products
A geographical indication protects an origin-linked product rather than the private brand of a single trader. The application must identify the product, the relevant geographical area and the qualities, reputation or characteristics attributable to that origin.
An application may be made by an eligible producer, an organisation or association representing producers, or a competent authority. Eyepea assists with assessing the proposed indication and coordinating the geographical, product and production information required for filing.
