However it is now four years later and the filing systems described, especially the US patent office electronic filing system, have changed completely. You can now send in your patent application in PDF form. A simple explanation of how to use the system is available at the US patent office web site. Obviously the author had a lot of real-life experience to include the handy tips that can frustrate even experienced users. In addtion, the book has a remarkable chapter on how to search for patentable ideas using Internet; the resources recommended are very useful. The brief survey of the US Patent laws is also helpful for both patent attorneys as well as inventors.
