The music business is a cruel and vindictive world where many people perish looking for the best deal and young artists are crushed because they have no experience in dealing with the legal aspects and mostly don't have the people skills tu survive in a cruel world like this hwre every weak point is axploited and taken advantage of.Most people don't understant that without a proper knoledge of this system succes is improbable, this book comes as an aid for those trying to make it big in the music industry, explaining almost all of the steps needed for complete success.

with pages and pages of definitions and tips on the the music industry this book is excellent to peek at once in a while but is mainly intended to keep those nasty dust bunnies away from your other great books like "The New Music Industry: How to Use the Power of the Internet to Multiply Your Industry Exposure, Fan Base and Income Potential Online!" by ty cohen. this is a must have if you really want to have good information.

This book is a great resource of information about the music industry, but it reads more like an encyclopedia than a guide. Newcomers to the industry might be a little overwhelmed by the tidal wave of information. If you want an easy-to-read guide on how to get started, I would recommend "The Music Business: How YOU can make $500,000 "or more" a year in the music industry by Doing it Yourself!" by Ty Cohen. After you've got a foothold in the basics, then you will be more prepared to read this book.

This book is o.k. can be better. I recommend the Steps to Stardom DVD which actually take you behind the doors of the music industry to gain information from current CEO's, A&R's, Producers, Engineers, etc. Good Reference book to have on the shelf! |
